Salvatore Minneci was born in 1968 in Castellana Sicula, a small town in the Madonie. His working career began at the age of 16 in Germany. After he worked his way up, he decided to open a restaurant in Nuremberg. Although the years in Nuremberg gave him great satisfaction, in 2006, he decided to return to Italy and continue his restaurant business in Polizzi Generosa where he ran his restaurant. In 2017, he accepted the offer from Susafa where Salvatore, fully embracing the company philosophy, that is, blending tradition with innovation, now plays the role of chef.

Day 1 - Arrival
Welcome to Palermo, the capital of Sicily!! A crossroad of cultures and traditions since ancient time.
You will be welcomed at Palazzo Brunaccini, a boutique hotel right in the heart of the old Palermo. Enjoy the flavours of the local cuisine at the restaurant Don Carlo at Palazzo Brunaccini with excellent and unique local products selected by the chef.

Day 2 - Ballarò Market and Cefalù
Experience Palermo's culture by visiting one of its historical markets: Ballarò. Learn about the food and all the secrets of this unique world of colours, sounds and smells. Get to know the coast with the visit of Cefalù; a pretty fishing village squeezed between a dramatic mountain peak and a sunny stretch of sand. Then, continue to your next accommodation: Masseria Susafa. An old farmhouse now converted into spaces for hospitality.

Day 3 - The villages of the Madonie mountains
A day in the “Parco delle Madonie” and its surrounding scenic countryside. Visit the town of Gangi and the Medieval village of Petralia Soprana. Stop for a lunch break at the trattoria “Da Salvatore”, a certified slow food destination, before continuing to Polizzi Generosa, famous for its beautiful churches and the view of the highest peaks of the Madonie mountains

Day 4 - Sicilian Cooking & Wine
A day dedicated to discovering the Sicilian flavours. Start the day with a cooking class at the restaurant “ Il Granaio” at the Masseria Susafa. In the afternoon, visit the Regaleali Estate, a green oasis in the heart of Sicily, and enjoy their excellent wines surrounded by rows of vineyards and olive trees.

Ballarò, one of the oldest street markets in Palermo, is a treat for all five senses. An authentic explosion of colours and enchanting scents of fresh products such as fruits, vegetables, meat and fish. Amongst the banter of the vendors in the city folklore, you can taste the authentic Palermo street food specialities, such as bread with spleen "Pane con la meusa" or the historic Sicilian dessert: il cannolo (cannoli).

Cefalù is a pretty fishing village with colourful streets. Don’t be missed the 12th-century cathedral decorated with precious mosaics, surrounded by a lovely square lined with palm tree, and the picture-postcard beach overlooked by old fishermen’s houses.

The Regaleali Estate is a green paradise located about 50 km southeast of Palermo, part of the Tasca Wineries Estates. Since 1830, this land has contributed to the history of the region through the landscape, the people who farm it and the wine produced. The property is a mosaic of soft hills decorated with rows of vineyards, olive trees, a variegated exotic flora, so inviting for the great contrast with the expanses of wheat and the surrounding arid hills.
