Ciasa Salares is the only luxury Gourmet Hotel in the heart of the Dolomites, offering three fine-dining restaurants, chocolate and cheese rooms, and a fabulous cellar with some 24,000 wines. The Wieser family built it from scratch in the 1960s and today, the fourth generation is still at the helm of the hotel, continuing a tradition of top-class hospitality. Ciasa Salares has an enviable position immersed in nature, right at the entrance to the splendid Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park.
Alta Badia
Alta Badia is a beautiful corner of South Tyrol consisting of six villages that are home to the Ladins, the oldest Rhaeto-Romanic community in the Alps. This is a gorgeous land surrounded by the Dolomite peaks, where centuries-old traditions coexist with a cosmopolitan lifestyle and beautiful hotels are perfectly integrated into the region’s unspoiled nature.
San Cassiano
San Cassiano is a lovely Ladin mountain village immersed in a landscape of green meadows, ancient forests and majestic mountain peaks. With an elegant yet low-key vibe, San Cassiano with an excellent food and wine offering, beautiful alpine chalets, unrivalled views as well as easy access to some of Alta Badia's great ski areas and hiking tracks.
Brunico
Located right in the heart of the Pusteria Valley, Brunico is a vibrant Tyrolean centre at the foot of Plan de Corones, one of South Tyrol's most popular ski destinations. It attracts adventure seekers and mountain lovers with its stunning scenery and numerous activities, from epic skiing and hiking to window shopping along the banks of the Rienza river, which cuts through town. A major highlight in town is the Messner Mountain Museum, housed inside Brunico's 13th-century castle.
Ütia de Bioch
A typical alpine hut where ancient customs and traditions of the Ladin community are lovingly preserved. On the menu are delicious dishes of the Ladin, Tyrolean and Mediterranean cuisine and a great selection of wines. The large terrace outside is a great spot to linger over a drink while gaping at the magnificent views.
There’s no better way to relax after an excursion out in the mountains than a delightful tasting session of the finest local grappa, perhaps by a bonfire!
Mount Lagazuoi
Rising up to an altitude of over 2700 meters, Mount Lagazuoi is one of the top attractions in this corner of South Tyrol. It offers several activities, from easy panoramic walks to challenging climbing routes and a trail leading to the largest Open Air Museum of WWI. During the conflict, Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies dug shelters, trenches and tunnels in the mountain, turning it into an impenetrable fortress - surely a sight not to miss when visiting the area.
San Brite
A new Michelin star in Cortina’s food scene, the San Brite restaurant defines itself as an “agri-cuisine” to underline its strong bond with the land (most of the ingredients come from the family production). The name of the restaurant means ‘healthy mountain hut’ in the local dialect and well reflects the idea of a healthy farmhouse that the chef wants to express through the exceptional quality of his dishes.
Cocun wine cellar
Cocun (literally, bottle cork in Ladin) is Ciasa Salares’ wine cellar, a treasure trove of over 1900 labels from across the globe. Premium cheeses and cold cuts accompany wonderful tasting sessions in a very atmospheric setting.
Cortina d’Ampezzo
Cortina D’Ampezzo is a charming alpine town framed by the scenic peaks of the Dolomites. A favorite mountain destination all year round, Cortina boasts a picturesque town centre blending glamour and tradition, and serves as an ideal spot for sport enthusiasts thanks to its unique natural setting.
