Salina

The second-largest island of the Aeolian archipelago, Salina is a verdant oasis of peace and quiet, with quaint villages, lovely beaches, and grand inactive volcanoes covered in vineyards and lush vegetation. It came under the international spotlight after the Italian movie The Postman showed the world the island's beauties.

Azienda Agricola Virgona

Azienda Agricola Virgona

From the fertile hills of Malfa, Virgona produces two lines of wines with protected geographical indication, the Salina Red and the Salina White, as well as the prized Malvasia delle Lipari D.O.C. Passito. This is a sweet wine of ancient origins produced from the Malvasia grapes native to the island. The family personally oversees the entire wine-making process, ensuring high quality products with an absolutely genuine and natural taste.

Sapori Eoliani

Sapori Eoliani

Sapori Eoliani is a family-run business in the hamlet of Pollara, which grows capers and caper berries, two of Salina’s traditional products and a precious Slow Food Presidium. Alongside traditional methods and manual processing, the De Lorenzo family constantly invests in research and innovation to improve the quality of its products. The result is a juicy and perfectly shaped product that retains all its natural flavour.

Panarea

Panarea

Panarea is the queen of the Aeolian Islands. It’s the oldest of the seven sisters but also the smallest: 3.4 square kilometers of pure natural beauty, from stunning diving spots and active underwater fumaroles to natural swimming pools and one of the few sandy beaches in the Aeolian archipelago. What’s more, at night its narrow lanes and scenic footpaths are not illuminated, thus providing the perfect condition to fully appreciate its magnificent starry sky.

Ristorante Capofaro

Ristorante Capofaro

Helmed by Chef Gabriele Camiolo, Capofaro is the restaurant of the Tasca d’Almerita wine estate. The young sicilian Chef along with his culinary brigade interprets the passion of the Tasca d’Almerita for good food, a deep and rich gastronomic history that combines the lessons of the “monsù” (cooks of the Sicilian and Neapolitan aristocratic houses) and the peasant knowledge of the ancient Sicilian fiefs, reaching up to the present day. A journey of taste and ethics that goes through the concept of “short kilometer”: a system of gardens supplies 70 percent of the produce used in the kitchen. The ancient grains for bread, pasta and other genuine products come from the Regaleali estate. Among these, the bread of Capofaro, awarded by the Gambero Rosso 2018 Restaurant Guide as “Best Bread on the Table” in Italy.

Stromboli

Stromboli

Stromboli is a fascinating island dominated by a fiery volcano that has been continuously active for the past 2000 years. It grumbles all day longo, regularly spitting ashes and lapils up in the sky and into the sea through the Sciara del Fuoco (Street of Fire); locals affectionately call it “iddu” (“he” in the local dialect) as if it were one of them. All around is a wild landscape of black sandy beaches lapped by the blue sea and virtually no roads. The island holds a curious record: the village of Ginostra is home to the smallest harbour in the world!
